Pontoons and bass boats in the $8,000-$20,000 range turn over fastest; used boats sit anywhere from a few days to a couple months depending on season, with spring (March-May) bringing the deepest selection.
Is it cheaper to buy a used boat from a dealer or a private seller?
Dealers typically price 10-20% above private-party for the same boat, but that premium usually includes a mechanical inspection, a short warranty (30-90 days is common), and financing through the dealership. A private seller has no markup but also no recourse if the outboard fails a week later.
